It All Started Out With Some Bachelors
If the bachelors who settled here in the 1900s could only see how far their mountain escape has come along, they would probably gasp with its grandeur.
Several of the bachelors who came here over a century ago were miners searching for precious metals, but mainly they were looking for a better life. What they found was a land rich with timber and an expansive view of the surrounding areas. They sustained themselves by raising cattle and chickens, taking lumber from the forest, and growing lettuce. Sadly the stay of these gentlemen was cut short as the Great Depression occurred. When they left, a couple of local ranchers stayed on and let their sheep and cattle graze the fertile land.
Come 1995, the 1,400 acre community that is known as Bachelor Gulch was reborn. Being the only resort community that is actually on the mountain in the Vail area, Bachelor Gulch CO, resort homes and Bachelor Gulch CO Vacation Homes are some of the most coveted. In an intimate community just a stone’s throw away from Beaver Creek, you appreciate the value of living in solitude and at the same time the proximity to the lively shopping that your neighboring communities boast of. At an elevation of between 8,100 and 9,560 feet, this gated village gives its residents an illusion of being isolated from the world since you can barely see Bachelor Gulch from the base of the valley.
